Never one to be unfaithful
Righteous in everything he'd do
But he saw his brethren, hateful
And he decided to

Leave the evil he stood for
Find his own way to the light
What did his brothers have in store?
Hunt him down, it was their plight

Sinner, sinner, sinner

From his old past he fled
Humming his own anthem
Seeing his concealed hatred
How he was just like them

He could never change their mind
But worked hard to change his own
Saw himself as just as blind
'Til he realized how he'd grown

It wasn't about being right
Wasn't about becoming strong
He started shining his own light
Forgiving those in the wrong

The sinner, sinner, sinner

Untraceable guilt within his eyes
Was his a good or a bad will?
Gone searching for clearer skies
The sinner who knew no evil
It's been a full six months since my last submission, and I get it. First, there was a ton of exams, then two months overseas and then the mess of things when I returned. Or actually, everyday life has been easy and not that stressful, but my mind has been a mess and went into a lock-down shortly before I left the ship I was on. Now, finally, I'm able to submit something.

The story of this is one tiny part my own life experience, and mostly inspiration gathered from various songs. Actually, the proportion of those things is a mystery, because in a way, I would never have written this if it weren't for that experience. However, I couldn't have written it without the melodies and lyrics that "drew it out of me" so to speak.

Please leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments, I would love to hear them.

I love the meaning of those verses so much. I think the world is fed up with self righteous, hypocritical preachers, and every person needs to shine their own light. At least, that's what I get from it :D

Beautiful one. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you! I'm so happy the message got through (I never know when I'm being too vague, but in a way, I don't want to be too clear either). Thank you so much for your kind words!
